Meet Jillian Zagorski: A Powerhouse in Collegiate & Professional Dance

Jillian Zagorski - Master Class

On Friday, January 3rd, 2025True Dance Potential kicked off its first-ever master class, and it was an incredible success. The sold-out event brought together dancers from across Long Island’s studios and high school dance teams, eager to train with one of the top choreographers in collegiate pom and professional performance—Jillian Zagorski.

For 90 minutes, from 6:30-8 PM, the energy inside our state-of-the-art training facility was unmatched. Dancers of all backgrounds—those preparing for collegiate dance team auditions, aspiring performers looking to refine their skills, and dedicated athletes eager to train like the pros—came ready to work. Jillian’s intensity, precision, and deep knowledge of pom choreography and technique transformed the space into a high-level training ground.

This class wasn’t just about learning new choreography—it was about elevating every dancer’s performance, refining technique, and bridging the gap between studio dance and the professional dance world.

Jillian’s expertise goes far beyond the classroom—she is a game-changer in the dance industry.

  • Team USA Gold Medalist – Jillian represented Team USA, earning gold at the ICU World Championship in Pom (2016) and again at the inaugural Pan American Dance Team Worlds (2017) in Cali, Colombia.
  • Professional Performer & Choreographer – From 2013 to 2017, Jillian was a professional dancer for the New York Cosmos, where she served as captain and head choreographer, performed live on Fox 5 New York, and even opened for international music sensation Farruko.
  • Elite-Level Coach & Instructor – Jillian has worked with top collegiate programs, including the University of Alabama, University of Cincinnati, West Virginia University, and University of Nebraska-Omaha, coaching and choreographing for multiple NDA National Championship-winning teams.

Her knowledge, passion, and ability to train dancers for high-level performances make her one of the most sought-after choreographers in the industry today.

A Master Class Designed for the Collegiate Level

Jillian’s Pom Master Class at True Dance Potential provided dancers with a firsthand look at what it takes to train and perform at the collegiate and professional level.

  • Collegiate-Level Pom Choreography – Dancers learned high-energy, technical choreography that mirrored what they would encounter in a college game-day or competitive team setting.
  • Precision & Execution – Jillian emphasized motion sharpness, synchronization, footwork, and explosive transitions to help dancers master the intensity of collegiate pom.
  • Performance & Stamina Training – Understanding that collegiate and professional dancers must sustain high-energy performances, Jillian guided dancers through drills that reinforced endurance, breath control, and showmanship.

Dancers left motivated, inspired, and with a deeper understanding of the expectations at the next level.

Adding to the excitement, the class was professionally filmed and photographed by Whois.Weston, a renowned California-based videographer and photographer, ensuring that every moment of this groundbreaking master class was captured.

Pro Tip for Dancers Preparing for College Dance Team Auditions

If you want to stand out at pom team auditions, focus on stamina and motion control. Collegiate routines demand precision, endurance, and explosive energy. Incorporating high-intensity cardio, core stability training, and resistance-based arm drills will help you maintain strong, clean motions throughout an entire performance.
